Where to stay in Itacaré
On the high ground at the entrance to the village, at the end of a dead-end road.
Chocolate Hotel sits on the high ground at the entrance to Itacaré, on a nine-thousand-square-metre former cocoa farm facing the sea and the mouth of the Contas river. The centre is five minutes away by car, the surf beaches seven, and Concha beach 1.8 km. There are fourteen suites, each with a balcony.

The road runs down between cocoa trees to the gate
You arrive on the BA-001. At the entrance to the village, a road turns left, runs down and passes between the cocoa trees of the old farm to the hotel’s wooden gateway. Google Maps leaves you at the start of it: carry on to the end, as it is a dead end.
The address is Rua da Telebahia, Itacaré, Bahia, 45530-000, Brazil.

Fourteen suites on nine thousand square metres
This was the main house of a cocoa farm, and the land stayed whole: garden, kitchen garden, the stone lap pool and the paths between the garden and the forest.
The suites come in four categories, Semente, Torra, Tulha and Grand Cru, all with a queen-size bed and a balcony. Breakfast is served at Nibs, which in the evening also opens to non-residents.
