Yes. Chocolate Hotel, in Itacaré on Bahia's Cocoa Coast: fourteen suites on a nine-thousand-square-metre property, on the high ground of an old cocoa farm.
A hotel, with fourteen suites in four categories and Nibs, a restaurant that also takes non-guests. Only the scale is that of a pousada: nine thousand square metres for few people, and breakfast comes to the table, à la carte.
No. The name comes from the place: a former cocoa farm, on the Cocoa Coast. Cocoa appears in the names of the suites, in a dessert at Nibs and in the outings. There are no walls of chocolate.
On the high ground at the entrance to the village of Itacaré, facing the Atlantic and the mouth of the Contas River. 1.8 km from Concha Beach, a five-minute drive from the centre, seven from the surf beaches and about 70 km from Ilhéus airport.
The whole coast: the line of beaches, the mouth of the Contas River and the forest behind. The lookout, at the top of the property, is for hotel guests and for diners with a table booked at Nibs.
Every suite has a balcony and a view; what changes is what it frames. The Torra suites open onto the bay, with the river mouth. The Tulha suites, in stone, have the sea through the trees. The Semente suites look onto the forest, with the sea through the leaves. The Grand Cru has a sitting room and a private garden in front, with the coast behind.
Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is until noon.
You send your ID on WhatsApp before you arrive, and check-in is done by the time you walk in. The door code comes by message.

It is, for every suite, served à la carte at Nibs. The house bakery sends out the croissant, the pão de queijo and the pastries of the day; tapioca, omelettes and scrambled eggs are on the card.
Yes. Guests and visitors, in the late afternoon and evening, from the aperitivo through dinner. Few tables and parking at the top; book ahead.
You can. Birthdays, anniversaries and proposals: we keep the table with the view, arrange the toast and look after the rest. Let us know when you book.
